The Challenge AE Systems joined this project with approximately two months until completion deadline and 90% of the facility finished. Available space for installation of sound system equipment was limited. In addition, the design of the system called for more than the usual configuration of microphones and speakers. The Solution Employing dependable and space-saving modular card-frame technology by IRP Professional Sound Products and innovative engineering. AE Systems created a unique sound system for each of the eighteen courtrooms. Features included a mix-minus speaker switching system that allows a zone of speakers located over each microphone to automatically cut off when the microphone is in use, thus eliminating feedback often encountered when the two components are in close proximity. Included also was a user friendly control panel at each bench allowing a judge to silence or activate microphones as needed. Each courtroom was equipped with a hearing-assistance system utilizing wireless headsets. In addition, AE Systems provided building-wide paging tied to the telephone system. The client's time, space and audio problems were overcome with quality engineering, product knowledge, and experience.
