To install sophisticated voice, video and sound systems that would establish this new educational facility as the technology standard for the City of Chesapeake's high schools.

The Solution

AE Systems utilized the Telecenter V by Rauland-Borg as the basis of communications. This intercom and digital telephone service is designed to enhance and simplify voice communications throughout the facility. The Telecenter was also equipped with Media Retrieval, which allows teachers to control VCRs and laserdiscs, located in a central area, from the classroom via telephone. By simplifying faculty access to instructional media, Telecenter with Media Retrieval has given teachers more time to concentrate on the important things - like teaching.

AE Systems designed and installed a state-of-the-art sound system for the school's main auditorium, as well as for the smaller and more elegant civic theater, using micro-second, signal-aligned loudspeaker clusters incorporating JBL components. The computer-mapping technology used guarantees even coverage, adequate loudness before feedback, and excellent intelligibility of speech. Sound systems were also installed in the stadium, gymnasium, dining and common areas.

Finally, AE Systems addressed the concern for safety by providing an addressable fire detection and alarm system by Notifier, one of the most sophisticated and reliable systems of its kind on the market today.
